Gravity

the-17-minute-take-in-gravity-is-a-masterpieceLast night watched Gravity with Alane and Jared.  It was good, and the creation of tension in a drama that goes from a two-hander down to one by killing off the character played by one of the biggest stars on the planet is a real achievement (despite the one cheat moment in Act II) and a lot of credit to Sandra Bullock and the filmmakers , but on a reasonably large screen TV it is pared down and a lot of the tension leaves the room. Glad I saw it.

I am not sure if any of the manoeuvres were real or not, but they are far from convincing–and I don’t believe that most actors in most science fiction know or care what they are saying, and it shows.

Dir. Alfonso Cuarón
Starring Sandra Bullock and half a George Clooney.
